Steph Curry, a four-time NBA Champion, is already setting his sights on life after basketball. In a recent interview with CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street,” the 10-time NBA All-Star discussed his future plans, including his business ventures and aspirations post-retirement.

At 36 years old, Curry has established a media company, Unanimous Media, and a youth golf tour, Underrated, in addition to his basketball career. He expressed interest in potentially owning an NBA team in the future, stating that he believes he could contribute to sustaining the league’s success and running a championship organization.

Despite recently signing a one-year, $62.6 million contract extension with the Golden State Warriors that keeps him playing through 2027, Curry indicated that he still has more to achieve on the basketball court. As the leader of the U.S. men’s basketball team that secured an Olympic gold medal in Paris, he emphasized his commitment to continue competing at a high level.

Inspired by former NBA superstar Michael Jordan’s ownership of the Charlotte Hornets and the potential for league expansion in the near future, Curry expressed his intrigue in owning an NBA team. With Commissioner Adam Silver hinting at possible expansion following a lucrative media deal, Curry sees an opportunity to transition into team ownership down the line.

Reflecting on his experience with the Golden State Warriors, Curry acknowledged the influence of team owners Joe Lacob and Peter Guber in setting a standard for player treatment. He highlighted the importance of investing in a first-class environment to support players and enable them to perform at their best.

Steph Curry’s vision for his post-basketball career involves a diverse range of interests, from media and sports ventures to potential NBA team ownership.
